SpiderDAO introduces the hardware aspect into an already robust, secure, and reliable DAO mechanism. This hardware approach further enhances and increases the functionality, use cases, features, security, and privacy of the DAO.
The backbone of SpiderDAO’s hardware solution to combating plutocracy and giant whales is the SpiderConnect router. This isn’t your typical, everyday router. It houses a bundle of features and functionality which are all targeted towards your privacy and security.
One of the primary use cases for SpiderConnect is voting. The router allows end-users to cast votes securely via the SpiderConnect router. The secondary use case is that it acts as a central device that propagates VPN signals all around. You also get four dedicated ethernet ports, all of which can deliver 1Gbps speeds.
The SpiderConnect router includes an 880MHz MIPS® 1004Kc dual-core CPU, a 5-port 10/100/1000 switch/PHY, and one RGMII. The embedded high-performance CPU can process advanced applications effortlessly, such as routing, security, and VoIP. It provides several dedicated hardware engines to accelerate the NAT, QoS, Samba, and VPN traffic. These accelerators relieve the CPU for other upper-layer applications.

SpiderConnect taking care of your privacy and security:
There are hundreds if not thousands of malicious threats when surfing the web. Taking preventive measures before something terrible occurs is always a viable option. With the SpiderConnect router, you can count on multi-layered privacy techniques.
SpiderConnect uses SpiderVPN, which is based on the WireGuard protocol. This protocol ensures that all your networking traffic is fully encrypted with the addition of a DNS service. The DNS features stop your data from leaking to your local ISP provider, assuring complete anonymity.
We regularly update our DNS services with the latest ad-blocking techniques to help you protect from trojans, spyware, malware, and tracking. DDoS attacks are also becoming very common these days, which is why we have set up an IP filtering firewall and baked it into the SpiderConnect router.
Another notorious feature is the kill switch. This can be activated anytime from the dashboard. When this feature is enabled, it will automatically cut off your connection from the internet if you lose a VPN connection to protect and safeguard your identity. We keep 0 logs and discard all records by default.
Another big issue for VPN users is that some ISP blocks specific VPNs. This halts the VPN from working, but on SpiderConnect, we have a reliable option to turn off DNS unblocker, after which you’ll have a running VPN and be able to enjoy services around the world.
