SpiderDAO announces the successful completion of all Q1 2021 Roadmap targets.
April 10th 2021 SpiderDAO is today delighted to report the completion of the Q1 2021 Roadmap as set out in our white paper in December 2020.
Coming on the heels of the Discord TestNet and the Spider Pro Connect router firmware upgrade this last week, SpiderDAO are happy to report the completion of major Q1 2021milestones set out at the beginning of the project, namely:
- DAO Launch:Polkadot Testnet
- Deep Development of dVPN OpenWRT
- Testnet of Spider dVPN
- Native App Development on iOS
- Android App Beta Release
DAO Launch:Polkadot Testnet
We launched our DAO back in January 2021 and ported it to the Polkadot test net for live testing. Although we experienced some teething problems, in the beginning, these were eventually solved and the result is a working version of our hardware DAO that will shortly be released to the public in a firmware upgrade to conduct their own testing. (Watch this space!)
Deep Development of dVPN OpenWRT
Our Devs are very experienced and specialize in OpenWRT as it forms the basis of our Pro Connect router firmware and has been involved in its development for the last 4 years. All dVPN development is undertaken on the Polkadot Testnet using this protocol and the results have been spectacular as witnessed in our recent Discord Testnet and firmware upgrade featuring our SPDR wallet and hardware DAO functionality.
Testnet of Spider dVPN
In the latter part of the Quarter, we launched both a Discord TestNet and a firmware upgrade to our router, both of which have elements of decentralized VPN interacting with the blockchain. Although in its infancy, we continue to progress the development of the protocol and plan to release further upgrades on a regular basis.
Native App Development on iOS
The iOS app development has progressed more slowly than anticipated due to the lack of suitable developers, however, we have recently engaged a team of very experienced developers who have been given the task of completing the iOS app in a very short time and we are confident of their abilities and commitment.
Android App Beta Release
We will shortly be launching our Beta release to the wider public for testing and we invite our users to “take it for a spin”. As a little teaser, here are a few screenshots from the app:
