SpiderDAO Announces major upgrade to Pro Router firmware with a successful deployment of the DAO/Wallet TestNet
April 7th 2021 SpiderDAO is today delighted to report the completion of a major upgrade to the SpiderDAO project in the form of vastly improved firmware on their multifunctional SpiderConnect Pro Router.
The new firmware has not only moved the SpiderDAO project forward substantially but has also resulted in the ability to deploy a fully functioning TestNet showing the various SpiderDAO functions and capabilities within the router itself.
This Router TestNet will be rolled out to a select few members of the public who will be invited to do their own testing on the router in the very near future. (watch this space)
As well as providing an easy-to-use interface to a world-class VPN service, the Spider VPN Pro Router is now capable of hosting a number of other services all from within the same easy-to-use interface. All services and facilities are powered by the $SPDR token which is at the heart of the SpiderDAO ecosystem and which now gets its own wallet within the router firmware (see screenshots below)
In addition to a hardware wallet, DAO proposals, referendums, and communications, future additions to the firmware will include a dKYC (decentralized Know your customer data) facility and a fully secured multi-currency hardware wallet all within the Pro router.

Any participant can create and vote on proposals within the router interface
The wallet was built with full data security ensuring all operations remain private.
Anas Sayed, CTO of SpiderDAO commented “After the launch of our Discord TestNet it was only a matter of a few days until we included this functionality into our Pro Router. The Spider Pro router is at the heart of our Hardware DAO project and represents a massive step forward in our roadmap”
SpiderVPN provides a decentralized router-based VPN service for its users by using a dual-governance model which brings together hardware and software tools with on-chain elements. The team aims to build a new set of standards for Decentralized Autonomous Organisations to counteract the unfair distribution of voting power. Combining hardware safeguards and leveraging the Polkadot consensus mechanism, SpiderDAO establishes a whale-resistant mechanism whilst creating a highly scalable, interoperable, and stable governance system.
